This is a Danfoss TES2 thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), made in Denmark, used in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems to precisely meter liquid refrigerant into an evaporator. The coiled capillary tube leads to a remote sensing bulb (clamped onto the suction line near the evaporator outlet, using the metal bulb-strap clip visible on the assembly), which senses superheat and drives the valve’s diaphragm to open or close accordingly.
