This is a Danfoss TES2 thermostatic expansion valve (TXV), made in Denmark, used in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems to precisely meter liquid refrigerant into an evaporator. The coiled capillary tube leads to a remote sensing bulb (clamped onto the suction line near the evaporator outlet, using the metal bulb-strap clip visible on the assembly), which senses superheat and drives the valve’s diaphragm to open or close accordingly. This is an externally equalized version (the “ES” in TES2 denotes external equalization, with a separate small port for the equalizer line, visible as the brass stub with a plastic shipping cap).
Specs (from nameplate and manufacturer data):
Model: TES2, Part No. 068Z3403
Manufacturer: Danfoss A/S, Made in Denmark
